Best Wukong Skins in League of Legends 2022: Every Skin Ranked from Worst to Best

Wukong is one of the strongest champions in League of Legends right now. Let’s look over his skins and rank them from worst to best.

Wukong was released more than ten years ago. And being an older champion, his kit is relatively easy. He is mainly a fighter, but his passive makes him very tanky. Though he is mostly played in Jungle and Top lane, you can also play Wukong in the mid lane as he counters a lot of mid-lane carries. Also, he is an entertaining champion to play.

Though Wukong was always a reasonably strong pick, currently, he has one of the best winrates in Jungle. So this is the best time to pick up the Monkey King. He will be a strong option for you no matter where you play him. Wukong can hold his own in early to mid-game against any champions. During late game, you should look to group with your team as his damage starts to fall off, but he is always great at teamfights with his ultimate.

How Many Wukong Skins are There in 2022?

As of writing this article, Wukong currently has seven skins in total. Though it might not be a high number compared to other more popular champions, his skins still offer a wide variety of designs and concepts. So it is likely that you will find something that suits you.

First, let’s organize all Wukong skins by Riot’s skin tier system to understand their values better.

  • Timeworn or Classic (520 RP): 0
  • Budget or Deluxe (750 RP): 1 (General Wukong)
  • Standard or Superior (975 RP): 2 (Volcanic Wukong, Jade Dragon Wukong)
  • Epic (1350 RP): 4 (Radiant Wukong, Lancer Stratus Wukong, Battle Academia Wukong, Underworld Wukong)
  • Legendary (1820 RP): 0
  • Mythic (Special): 0
  • Ultimate (3250/2775 RP): 0

Wukong Skins Tier List

  • S-Tier (Best): Radiant Wukong, Lancer Stratus Wukong
  • A-Tier (Good): Underworld Wukong
  • B-Tier (Average): Jade Dragon Wukong, Battle Academia Wukong
  • C-Tier (Not Recommended): Volcanic Wukong
  • D-Tier (Bad): General Wukong

Now that all the skins are ranked, let’s discuss each skin in detail.

LoL Best Wukong Skins

D-Tier (Bad)

General Wukong

  • Release Date: July 26, 2011
  • Price: 750 RP
  • Chroma: No

Among all the skins, General Wukong is by far the worst Wukong skin you can buy. For 750 RP, you don’t get any new animations or effects—just a new character model, which isn’t really an upgrade over his original model. So you will be basically wasting money to have a worse skin.

C-Tier (Not Recommended)

Volcanic Wukong

  • Release Date: July 26, 2011
  • Price: 975 RP
  • Chroma: No

If Wukong had more skins, Volcanic Wukong would surely be in D-tier. But Wukong only has seven skins, and this skin looks slightly better than General Wukong. So I put it in C-tier. The price is relatively high for what you are getting in return. There are no new animations or effects. If Volcanic Wukong gets a new splash art and some decent fiery particle effects, this could become a good skin. But for now, I wouldn’t recommend it.

B-Tier (Average)

Jade Dragon Wukong

  • Release Date: January 12, 2012
  • Price: 975 RP
  • Chroma: No

The Jade Dragon Wukong skin sure looks cool. There are some new SFX/VFX effects as well. I love the color scheme of this skin. The Jade green looks great on his abilities. Jade Dragon Wukong skin is a good value for money option.

Battle Academia Wukong

  • Release Date: March 18, 2021
  • Price: 1350 RP
  • Chroma: Yes (8 Different Chromas Available)

The Battle Academia Wukong skin is Wukong’s latest skin. But being a new skin doesn’t always make it better. For 1350 RP, you get new animations, effects, and new recall animation. But that is the usual deal with all the new epic tier skins. Still, Battle Academia Wukong looks underwhelming overall.

A-Tier (Good)

Underworld Wukong

  • Release Date: October 28, 2014
  • Price: 1350 RP
  • Chroma: No

When it comes to classic Wukong skins, Underworld Wukong always comes to mind. Underworld Wukong was the best Wukong skin for quite some time. Still, a lot of veteran Wukong players love to use this skin over others. On top of new animations and effects, this skin also had a new voice filter. This is one of my favorite Wukong skins of all time.

S-Tier (Best)

Radiant Wukong

  • Release Date: January 27, 2016
  • Price: 1350 RP
  • Chroma: No

The Radiant Wukong skin is more than six years old, but still, it is one of the best Wukong skins. The character model looks great. Also, the new animations and effects are amazing. Especially the nimbus cloud is a great reference to Dragon Ball. This detail makes the skin even more popular among the fans.

Lancer Stratus Wukong

  • Release Date: April 04, 2018
  • Price: 1350 RP
  • Chroma: No

I love the futuristic look of Lancer Stratus Wukong. This is certainly a different look for the Monkey King, but Riot has done a fantastic job with the skin. The new animations, effects, and recall animation look excellent. Also, the skin adds a new voice filter and additional quotes. Lancer Stratus Wukong is definitely one of the best Wukong skins in his arsenal.
