Bard is getting some much-needed nerfs in Patch 14.4.
Support champions have been pretty strong in Season 14. Due to the Season 14 item overhaul, Supports champions received some hefty buffs.
Firstly, the support starter item received a total overhaul. Riot removed the previous support items and condensed them into a new support item called World Atlas. The items worked similarly to Relic Shield and Spellthiefs Edge, providing gold generation from attacking enemies and executing minions. Moreover, its passive gold generation was increased quite a bit.
However, the most significant change was the support item upgrades. World Atlas, after accumulating a certain amount of gold, transformed into one of five items. Players could choose what item they wanted depending on the champion they were playing.
Additionally, Riot revamped most of the older support items and introduced new ones to the game. These changes combined resulted in supports becoming quite strong. Support champions like Bard, Zyra, Brand have become way too strong. Thus, in Patch 14.4, Riot is looking to tone down some of these champions.
In this article, we will focus mainly on the Bard nerfs and discuss how these would affect the champion moving forward.
