How to boost your Might and Constitution by training with Kai.
Avowed is an action RPG set in the world of Eora, the same world in which the Pillars of Eternity series is set in.
Much like POE, Avowed has a host of characters for you to meet. Furthermore, there are a total of four companions that will join you during the quest to fight the Dreamscourge
You’ll meet your first companion, Kai, as early as the tutorial. Each companion comes with their unique backstories, side quests, and combat abilities.
Moreover, you can train with each companion, which gives you stat bonuses. Kai, being the tanky fighter he is, can boost your Might and Constitution.
In this article, we look at how you can unlock Kai’s training and what stat boosts you can pick from.
How to Unlock Kai as Companion
Kai is the first companion you’ll unlock in Avowed, and he joins you right from the first region in the game, Dawnshore.
You’ll first meet Kai during the main quest “Message From Afar”. When you use the boat to escape and arrive at the docks of Dawnshore, Kai will suggest searching for the ambassador together.
Kai is a Fighter and is a great tank. He can deal ranged and melee damage, using his blunderbuss and sword, and can stun enemies
Moreover, he can taunt enemies to draw aggro, making him an essential companion if you’re building your Envoy as a DPS/glass cannon.
How to Unlock Kai Training
To unlock Kai training, you simply need to talk to Kai and continue the dialogue as you would, developing your relationship.
After you’ve progressed through the story a bit and talked to him a couple of times, you’ll unlock a dialogue option “You’ve mentioned training together”.
After you pick this dialogue option, you’ll be given three more dialogue options to choose from. The dialogue you pick will dictate your stat increase. The dialogue options are given below:

Keep in mind, however, that you can only train with a companion once, meaning you can only pick one of the stat increases.
