What Are Smithing Stones In Elden Ring?

To upgrade your weapons and fight with your full strength in Elden Ring, you must have a collection of Smithing Stones. Through this guide, you will get to know all the necessary details of Smithing Stones.

Elden Ring is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. Elden Ring has an open world map including six main areas where players can roam, ride horses, fight, and even can find castles, fortress, and catacombs.

Combat, which includes a variety of weapons and magic spells, horseback riding, summons, and crafting are all part of the game. Non-player characters (NPCs) and opponents alike appear throughout the game, including the demigods who rule each main location and serve as the game’s main bosses.

Smithing Stones are one kind of collectible that help a player upgrade shields and weapons in the game. These Smithing Stones are not easy to get, and you have to fight for them in the game. The more valuable the Smithing Stones are, the harder it is to get them.

What Are Smithing Stones?

You can upgrade your weapons by spending Smithing Stones. There are two types of Smithing Stones, one is the regular Smithing Stones, and the other is the Somber Smithing Stones which are mostly used for upgrading the advanced weapons. Regular Smithing Stones can be used to increase the strength of normal equipment by up to 25%.

Here’s a list of the different Smithing Stones:

  • Smithing Stone (1): Reinforce armaments up to +3
  • Smithing Stone (2): Reinforce armaments up to +6
  • Smithing Stone (3): Reinforce armaments up to +9
  • Smithing Stone (4): Reinforce armaments up to +12
  • Smithing Stone (5): Reinforce armaments up to +15
  • Smithing Stone (6): Reinforce armaments up to +18
  • Smithing Stone (7): Reinforce armaments up to +21
  • Smithing Stone (8): Reinforce armaments up to +24
  • Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone: Reinforce armaments up to +25

Each time you level up your smithing stone, the cost goes up by two. This implies you’ll need twelve of each type ranging from (1) to (12) to upgrade a weapon (7) completely. However, there is only one Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone required.

But the Somber Smithing Stones only upgrade your weapon by 1 level.

The following is a list of the different Somber Smithing Stones:

  • Somber Smithing Stone (1): Increase the strength of special armaments by one.
  • Somber Smithing Stone (2): Increase the strength of special armaments by 2.
  • Somber Smithing Stone (3): +3 special armament reinforcement
  • Somber Smithing Stone (4): Increase the strength of special armaments by 4 points.
  • Somber Smithing Stone (5): Increase the strength of special armaments by 5.
  • Somber Smithing Stone (6): Increase the strength of special armaments by +6.
  • Somber Smithing Stone (7): Increase the strength of special armaments by 7.
  • Somber Smithing Stone (8): Increase the strength of special armaments by 8.
  • Somber Smithing Stone (9): Increase the strength of special armaments by 9.
  • Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone: Increase the strength of special armaments by ten percent.

You can use any of these Smithing Stones to update and upgrade your Elden Ring level. The greater the power of the Smithing Stones, the more powerfully you can upgrade your weapons.

There are Smithing Stones scattered in different places of the game. You have to explore and find them to level up and upgrade. Happy Gaming and Best Of luck!
