Virtus.Pro defeats Cloud9 2:0 in CS:GO Flashpoint Season 2

Flashpoint Season 2 is a Three double-elimination (GSL) format tournament where 12 teams fight for the $1,000,000 prize pool. It is a month-long tournament and it is being hosted Online this year.

Team Virtus.pro beats Cloud9 in the best-of-3 series in their group C upper bracket semi-final match. They have performed remarkably in their first match in the group stages against Cloud9 sweeping them 2:0.

Virtus.pro started the match off with Inferno which was their map pick and was already in a massive lead at the end of the first half. Inferno being CT-sided, Virtus.pro has really shown their prowess on the map with a 12:3 scoreline on the terrorist side. The map ended in a decisive victory for Virtus.Pro. Following that Cloud9 picked the second map Overpass where Virtus.Pro took the lead, but Cloud9 was on the comeback but failed short and unfortunately lost with a very close scoreline.

Team Virtus.Pro Lineup:

Mareks “YEKINDAR” Galinskis
Dzhami “Jame” Ali
Sanjar “SANJI” Kuliev
Timur “buster” Tulepov
Alexy “qikert” Golubev

Map-wise Stats:

Inferno
Virtus.Pro 16-5 Cloud 9
Overpass
Virtus.Pro 16-12 Cloud 9

The results of the match aren’t too surprising, it being the debut of Cloud9’s new CSGO team. Nicknamed “Colossus“, it was made to be the new lineup of the well renowned blue team. But on the first map even on the Terrorist side, VP winning that anti-eco round really gave them that much-needed boost in the team economy and put them on a 6 round win streak which got them a triumphant victory. On the second map, the new team gave it their all but sadly lost to a hard-fought defeat to Virtus.pro.
