The device closely resembles Nintendo Switch but will give Steam account holders full accessibility to their Steam library. Valve is now taking reservations for pre-orders on its website. The product description reads:
“We partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck’s custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope”
The product’s selling point is its ability to bring portability to PC games. Games can be accessed just as players have left them on PC. Moreover, Steam Deck owners can easily install Windows or Linux on their devices as many of the games are not supported by its SteamOS yet.
