Sova’s abilities are intended to scout out enemy territories and gather information. It goes without saying that his abilities are supposed to be utilized during the round. But Redditor LandonAeros came across a case where Sova’s ability from the previous round affected the following round.
In the video posted by LandonAeros, we can see opponent Omen’s body being shot with a Recon Bolt at the end of the round. This resulted in revealing the Omen’s location on the minimap for about 4 seconds after the conclusion of the Buy Phase in the subsequent round.Â
This exploit is potentially game-breaking. Usually, Sova’s Recon Bolts tag enemies within its area of effect and sight. But in this certain case, Omen was marked on the map without any Recon Bolt in his vicinity at the moment.
VALORANT’s competitive integrity has always been affected in the past by various bugs and exploits. It’s still not sure whether this is a repeated exploit that can be replicated or an isolated case. Nonetheless, it poses a great threat to the competitive nature of the game.

The primary reason behind this exploit has not yet been identified. Aside from this evidence, no additional cases have been reported on any major social media platform. However, Riot should investigate this exploit and dispatch a fix without any further delay. Previously, Patch 2.05’s release caused mayhem among some VALORANT players who experienced PC crashes & unstabilities in the game.
