Earlier today, Riot has released a new developer note titled “State of the Agents – Feb,2021“. There, the devs discussed the present scenario surrounding the Agents of VALORANT. They have taken into account the community’s thoughts regarding Viper. They said that there are changes planned for her but they will not be in the next update. They have also hinted at buffs coming for Yoru.
Since the beta, Valorant has launched several new agents. The first was Reyna the Duelist, followed by Killjoy the Sentinel, Skye the Initiator, and the latest one being Yoru the Duelist. So far there are 5 duelists, 3 initiators, 3 sentinels, and 3 controllers. So the only role not getting a new agent since release is the controller role.
Riot dev John Gosicki mentioned in the article, “That said, our next Controller is a major cosmic shift from the play patterns you’ve grown accustomed to. This one is for all you “galaxy brain” players out there that like to study everything that happens on a map.”
