Cypher is the epitome of a Sentinel agent with abilities that can fortify a site as well as remotely watch multiple flanks. Even after receiving a huge nerf, the usage of his abilities can determine the outcome of a round in certain situations. Suffice to say; Cypher is a worthy pick on any map.Â
In a recent video, Redditor BittexGaming shows his intriguing use of a Cyber Cage in Split’s A Screens area. As demonstrated in the video, the Cage is thrown over to a ledge above the entrance to Defender Spawn. This Cyber Cage functions similarly to a one-way smoke.Â
The person caught in the Cyber Cage will be unable to see outside the cage while the lower half of his body remains exposed to any onlookers. Paired with a Trapwire, this can score easy kills and hold off the defender rotations during a post-plant scenario where buying time is the 1st priority. Even without any fatality, this cage will surely buy the crucial few seconds needed to ensure victory.

There are many other ways to use the Cyber Cage, namely as smoke or to fend off adversaries. But the spot mentioned above is an unexpected twist to the defenders proceeding towards a retake situation. Due to the defensive nature of Cypher players, a cage this deep into the Screens area will also work as an element of surprise.Â
Battle-Cypher is a new trend among North American VALORANT professionals. Considering the rapidly changing meta of the game, playing safe & defensive as Cypher might become outdated soon.Â
