Ubisoft will reveal details about the latest addition in Tom Clancy’s video game franchise on July 19, 11 AM PT / 8 PM CEST.
Tom Clancy’s universe is about to get bigger. In case you were unaware, the author’s military science fiction books have been adapted in over 40 games as of date. Now, Ubisoft plans on revealing a brand new game of the Tom Clancy universe. The announcement was made on Ubisoft’s official Twitter handle.
Most of Tom Clancy’s tactical shooter games have been published by Ubisoft. While they do have a solo mode, they largely support online multiplayer facilities. However, there are some exceptions like the Splinter Cell series which comes with a strong single-player story campaign.
One of the most popular Tom Clancy’s games would be Rainbow Six Siege, which has a player base of 55 million people. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Tom Clancy’s The Division have a player base of 30 million and 20 million respectively.
Apart from the four-second teaser added in their announcement, Ubisoft has not revealed any clues about which series it will belong to. Fans have long hoped for getting another installment in the Splinter Cell series, which hasn’t had a new entry in eight years.
Although, to be taken with a grain of salt, labeling it as a “brand-new game in the Tom Clancy universe” could suggest the start of a brand new series entirely. Ubisoft has scheduled a worldwide reveal on its official YouTube channel.
