Ubisoft delays Rainbow Six Extraction until January 2022; Riders Republic delayed to October

Ubisoft has decided to delay the release of Rainbow Six Extraction to January 2022, according to the company’s surprising announcement earlier today.

This Siege spin-off title was scheduled to release on September 16th but now has been delayed four months and will release in January 2022.

“Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games. With unique features like Missing In Action or The Sprawl, every mission is set to be a tense and challenging experience in which you’ll lead the elite operators of Rainbow Six in a fight against a lethal and evolving alien threat.

We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022. We are confident this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play.” – stated Ubisoft.

On the other hand, Ubisoft’s sports title Rider’s Republic has also been delayed from its original September 2 date to October 28. While the delay might not be as long as R6: Extraction, Ubisoft said that it will “give [them] more time to fine tune the experience and give [players] another chance to jump in before launch and provide feedback.”

The reveal of R6: Extraction, back in E3 2021, received a mixed reaction from the gaming community. YouTubers, who got early access to play the game, weren’t very excited to recommend this title to their fans. This could be the main reason Ubisoft has pushed back the release, so players can experience the game in its full glory, which still might not be enough for some players to justify the hefty $60 price tag.

Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, and Stadia. Unlike Siege, the game will feature cross-play across all platforms, so PC players will be able to enjoy this title with their friends on other platforms.
