Twitter is Planning to Charge $20 Per Month for Account Verification

Twitter is apparently planning a $20 per month charge for account verification.

Twitter is a microblogging and social networking service based in America. Recently the tech billionaire Elon Musk bought Twitter for about $44 Billion. The news made everyone wonder about the future of Twitter and the direction Elon Musk wants to take it.

After acquiring Twitter Elon Musk did not waste any time in giving the Twitter employees their first task. Apparently, Elon plans to charge $20 per month for verified Twitter accounts. This is a revamped pricing for Twitter Blue that enables extra features on the site.

Going forward, this price might increase to $19.99 and will also verify users who pay the monthly fee. Twitter employees were also given an ultimatum to complete the feature before a deadline. Failing to meet the deadline will result in them getting fired, according to sources.

Twitter charging $20 Per Month for Account Verification:

The news about the monthly charge was first reported by Casey Newton from Platformer. According to the report, Twitter users will have to pay monthly; otherwise, they will lose the verification status and the blue tick mark.

According to Watcher.Guru existing verified account on Twitter will have to pay a monthly subscription to retain their blue check marks. The time limit for this is 90 days.

Another Twitter user revealed information about the deadline ultimatum of the project. According to the Tweet, employees working on the project are given a deadline of November 7 to complete the feature. If they fail to meet the deadline, they will get fired.
