Yiliang “Peter” Peng or more commonly known by his in-game username “Doublelift” announces his retirement from the professional League of Legends scene.
Doublelift was one of the veterans of the NA professional League of Legends scene. He was mostly known for his amusing mechanical plays as an ADC. Arguably he was the best ADC in the North American region or now known as LCS.

The only player fans can justifiably compare Doublelift with in terms of achievements is Bjergsen. Both of them dominated their respective roles and brought home many LCS trophies. Doublelift won 8 of the last 11 splits he partook in.
And his attitude towards the game was put in the spotlight in the early stages of his career as he was unable to bring the results that he was preaching during his analysis of the game. But hard work always pays off. After grinding the game for almost 14 hours every single day, he won his first LCS trophy.
Following that he added some more trophies to his collection. He also played for some really top NA tier-1 organization in the pro League scene. Despite all that, his performance at Worlds was unfortunately not up to par with a player of his caliber.
Doublelift announces his retirement
“I’m fully aware of the irony of saying that in my retirement post. I’d like to have been able to say I won Worlds (or even just made it to quarters), but let’s just have the rookies take up the torch on that one“, Doublelift on his retirement statement.
Through many family tragedies, this North American never gave up on his dream and worked long hours to be the very best at what he truly loves. And he has got all the trophies to prove his worth in the summoner’s rift.
