Triumph snatched the grand-final spot of IEM BEIJING-HAIDIAN from Team Liquid by beating them on a three map series that went to the deciding map. Their opponent for the grand-final is yet to be decided.
Team Liquid and Triumph went head to head battling each other out in the playoffs of IEM XV – Beijing-Haidian Online: Europe 2020 semi-final for a spot in the grand final.
Triumph picked the first map, Inferno, for this three map series. In the first half Triumph got the pistol round and dominated Team Liquid by a score of 11-4.
However, in the second half Liquid started to make a comeback and almost got every single round until Triumph shuts it down in the 19th round and won the map by 16-12.
The second map was dust 2 which was picked by Team Liquid. Michael “Grim” Wince single-handedly snatched the pistol round of the first half from Triumph by taking an ace. Liquid dominated the first half by a score of 13-2. Liquid clinched this map with a score of 16-8 pushing the outcome of the match to the deciding map.
After a nail-biting first half in the deciding map, Triumph got the better of Liquid and clinched the match by a score of 16-14.

Both of the teams played exceptionally well in their respective map picks. Elige and Stewie stood up for Liquid but that just wasn’t enough to take them to the grand final. Junior played exceptionally well in the first and the last map getting the opening kill in almost every round making him the top player of the match.
