Unlike previously expected, the number of games not backwards compatible on the PS5 is very low.
As recently announced, almost all PlayStation 4 titles will be playable on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatiblity. Only a short list of games will be unplayable. In-fact it seems that too is also decreasing further. As the developers of DWVR has stated that they will patch the game to make it playable on PS5.
The full list of games not available via backwards compatible on PS5 are:
- Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One
- TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2
- Just Deal With It!
- Shadow Complex Remastered
- Robinson: The Journey
- We Sing
- Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
- Joe’s Diner.
There’s a chance this list will go even shorter as it is confirmed that DWVR is being worked on for PS5. So, devs of the other games might be working on it too.
It’s relieving to see none one of the bigger and major PS4 games isn’t on this list. Furthermore, from the initial news and reports, it felt like not a lot of games will be backwards compatible ready at launch, unlike Xbox. Disappointing some gamers, but that is now changed. A very convenient and welcome change.
Hundreds of amazing titles will be ready to play on your next-gen beast. In addition to receiving the extra oomph from the PS5 hardware, probably.
Even though, the launch titles for either the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 are not too alluring, except some of the titles. Gamers can still be busy diving in the huge collection of games of their PS4 and Xbox One, in their next-generation consoles.
