Tell Me Why is an episodic adventure game from the studio that made games like Vampyr, and the classic Life is Strange. Arguably one of the best narrative-driven games out there. Furthermore, the game’s episode 1 is free to play, but now all three are episodes are playable without extra costs. Additionally, Tell Me Why is also available on Xbox Game Pass. The game has gotten mixed reviews. A Metacritic score of 75 and a user score of 54.
Tell Me why tells the story of twins Tyler and Alyson, as they revisit their childhood home. The twins use their supernatural bonds, abilities to rediscover and unravel unsettling and troubling truths hidden within their loved childhood. Moreover, the game emphasizes heavily on characters and choices. Like most games of this genre.
Neither Microsoft nor Dontnod announced Tell Me Why going free, but there have been a few speculations. The most probable one is to celebrate Pride Month. As one of the main characters is actually transgender. But something like this was bound to go with an official announcement. So probably it is a store glitch? On the other hand, the store page says it will remain free for the whole month of June. So the Pride month speculation seems more likely.
Nevertheless, you can’t ever have enough free games. And for Xbox owners, it seems they’re in for a treat as they’re getting an extra free game along with the 4 Xbox Live Games with Gold games.
