Team Heretics defeat Guild Esports 2-0 in the VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Masters semifinals

VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Europe Stage 1 Masters is the main event after the three regional challengers series tournaments. It is a two-stage tournament where 8 teams fight for the $150,000USD prize pool as well as VCT Circuit points.

This year, VALORANT’s event timeline has been carefully planned by Riot to have three comprehensive stages which are organized with each stage having Challengers and Masters events. From the Master’s events, the teams will qualify for the Grand event: VALORANT Champions.

Team Heretics qualified for the Master’s event from VCT Europe Challengers 2. In the group stage of Masters, they won both their matches against Ninjas in Pyjamas and Ballista Esports respectively, and proceeded to the playoffs. Guild Esports qualified from VCT Europe Challengers 3. In the group stage, they placed 2nd winning two games and losing one. Now they face each other in the semifinals.

The first map was Haven picked by Guild Esports. The first half was very competitive with both teams having a close scoreline. But in the second half Team Heretics executed a strong attack which led them to take the first map. The second map was Ascent picked by Team Heretics. In the first half both teams were neck and neck but Heretics again pulled off well planned attacks, taking the map and the series.
