Earlier today, Team BDS announced the signing of former Team Vitality player “BriD” to replace their former captain “rxwd“, who recently parted ways with BDS.
After some poor results in Pro League Season 11 where Team BDS finished last, they decided to drop their captain Morgan “rxwd” Pacy. Team BDS had their ups and downs in R6 competitive scene, they managed to show their strength at LAN events, having finished third at DreamHack Montreal 2019 and fourth at the Six Invitational 2020.
However, they struggled to win at the OGA PIT Minor and the recent 6 Open Cup 2020, where they lost to PENTA. This forced the team to push for a roster change in hopes for better results in the future.
Replacing rxwd will be Loïc “BriD” Chongthep, who has been with Team Vitality since it was under the Supremacy banner in October 2017. So it was surprising to see BriD‘s long relationship with Vitality ending when Vitality announced the signing of Fabian and risze to replace him and Stigi.
In his time with Vitality, BriD won Gamers Assembly 2018 and managed to finish 2nd in DreamHack Valencia 2018, Coupe de France 2018, and 6 French League 2019. Even though Vitality finished in sixth place in PL season 11, they were only three points behind second-placed G2 Esports.
It will surely be interesting to see what BriD brings to his new team, as he reunites with his former teammate Adrien “RaFaLe” Rutik, with whom he had played on Team Vitality.
Here’s what BriD tweeted out after he joined Team BDS:
New colors, same mindset. I’m glad to join this new project and this team, I will give everything to achieve their new goals! Thanks to @BDS_esport for their trust!
Team BDS current roster:
Stephane “Shaiiko” Lebleu
Olivier “Renshiro” Vandroux
Bryan “Elemzje” Tebessi
Adrien “RaFaLe” Rutik
Loïc “BriD” Chongthep
The new roster will be in action soon in the upcoming European League (EUL), starting June 22nd.
