Best Characters Tier List in Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6 is a fighting game, and just like any other fighting game, it relies on player skill. A better character may not mean much if you cannot use it properly in the game. This list is our opinion on which character is more likely to do better when facing similarly skilled players in the game.
Tier | Character |
---|---|
S-Tier (Best) | Manon, Kimberly, Ken, Cammy |
A-Tier (Good) | Luke, Zangief, Guile, Dhalsim, Marisa, Chun-Li |
B-Tier (Average) | E. Honda, Ryu, Juri, Dee Jay, JP |
C-Tier (Okay) | Lily, Blanka, Jamie |
S-Tier
S-tier characters are those who have a lot of good moves for attacking or breaking free from stun. They can often be easy to pick up but hard to master. But if fully mastered, few will have a chance to beat these characters in the game.
Manon
Manon is one of the most brutal S-tier characters you can pick up and play in Street Fighter 6. Her moves are pretty elegant, like a dancer’s. But she shines at grappling playstyle the most. Her grapple deals a lot of damage, and her specials also focus on grabbing enemies. So even though she can be hard to pick up, she is terrific if you can master her playstyle in the game.
Kimberly
Kimberly is a part of the new characters in Street Fighter 6. She is also one of the easiest S-tier characters to handle in the game. Her moves feel very bouncy, and thus it makes things hard for the opponent to guess which attack she is going for. And paired with her special spectacle moves, she is an outstanding character.
Ken
Ken is one of the beloved characters of the Street Fighter franchise. Even though he gets a redesign in his look, his moves remain pretty much the same. He has a wide range of kicks and punches that has a good combo potential. If you like the combo playstyle, this is definitely a character you will enjoy.
Cammy
Cammy has been a consistently good character in all of Street Fighter games. And she is also S-tier in this game. She retains her original moves and also got some new combos in this game. Paired with the original moves and new combos, she is a devastating opponent to go up against.
A- Tier
A-tier characters are good but hard to master. They have very tight gameplay, but when you master their playstyle, you will do really well fighting other characters.
Luke
Luke is one of the most complex characters in the game. He is weak in the range category but more than makes up with his punch and kicks. Luke has good combo potential and a pretty good special. The only thing holding him back is his skill level. You need to be pretty skilled to pull off big plays with him.
Zangief
Zangief is one of the better grabbers in the game. He can deal massive damage using his grab and throws. His playstyle revolves around these moves. Even though a new or less experienced player may be able to exploit the grab move, more experienced players can evade him without much problem. So he is a good character for casual play but falls off at the top level.
Guile
Guile is another character with enormous combo potential. He has cover for both range and close range. And the game’s perfect mechanic only servers to make his moves even stronger. But you will need a lot of practice before you can pull off any powerful combo with him.
Dhalsim
Dhalsim has a pretty risk vs. reward type of playstyle. He has good range and can attack and punish opponents from long reach. But his recovery is pretty long. You need to master him to go against a skilled player. Because of his long recovery, any mistake can become deadly when playing with him.
Marisa
Marisa is a pretty good fighter who can cover long-range and counter from close range. Her grabs are deadly as they can be combo with other attacks to deal up to 80% damage to the opponent’s HP bar. Marisa keeps the enemies on guard since any mistake can become deadly when facing her in combat.
Chun-Li
Chun-Li is another iconic Street Fighter character. And in Street Fighter 6, she is an outstanding fighter as well. However, she is tough to learn and play. If you want to put in the time and learn to play Chun-Li, you will need to be dedicated to knowing her. That’s how complex she can be. And the new players can often get frustrated by her performance. But if you can learn her, she is one of the best the game has to offer.
B-Tier
B-tier is a good character that is not quite on the same level as A or S-tier characters. But they have their use case. A good player can go toe to toe with an A or S-tier character, even with a B-tier character. But for casual players, these characters may not work too well.
E. Honda
E. Honda is different because although he is bulky, he doesn’t rely on grabs. Instead, he can dish out some fast and powerful combo hits in a short amount of time. And because of his size, you can also pin people in a corner, making them unable to escape. He can be pretty fun in casual play but not preferable at the high level.
Ryu
Ryu is one of the more familiar characters of the Street Fighter franchise. Even though he is not a bad character, most players are familiar with his attacks and combo by now. So he is not that good, even for an experienced player. But if you face a relatively new player, he can still pop off in the match.
Juri
Juri has lightning-fast moves and deals heavy damage in Street Fighter 6. However, good Juri players are hard to find. She is quite tough to play with. For that reason, new players will struggle to play with her. However, if you are an experienced player or a Juri main, you will surely shine in a match using her in this game.
Dee Jay
Dee Jay is another good fighter held back by his core mechanic. He plays like a rhythm game inside the fighting game. While he can be okay at a lower level where players are not as skilled, keeping up the rhythm and fighting at a higher skill level becomes quite challenging.
JP
JP is mainly good at keeping the other player at range and dealing damage that way. This unconventional moveset of JP had the players guessing how to counter him. But as the players gained more knowledge, his use case became less and less.
C-Tier
C-tier is the last tier on our list. These characters are not played in the game because of their disadvantage compared to others. But you never know when they get a buff and become the metacharacter in the game.
Lily
Lily is a very new player-friendly character. So if you are a new player, you may find her pretty good initially. But compared to the other characters, she doesn’t have much complexity. Her limited toolset will hurt you learn the game and make other characters overwhelmed to play if you decide to main Lily.
Blanka
Blanka deals good damage, but the problem with him is he cannot dish out significant damage reliably. If you can execute a perfect combo, you can do good with him, but overall, there are a lot of better characters than him in the game. So whether you are a returning player or a new player, you are better off playing other characters in the game.
Jamie
Jamie is a good fighter, only brought down by his core mechanic. He is the first drunk fighter in this game. To do good with Jamie, you will need to reach at least level 4 drunk level with him. When other characters can dish out good damage without any extra mechanic, this drunk level feels punishing to play with.
