Get to know about the ways to remove traits!

Starfield had us opt for three separate traits during our character creation. Even though it was completely optional, we all selected these traits, thinking they were trivial and of no value. But in the later parts of the game, they are found to have profound effects on a player’s journey. Most notably, they have both good and bad effects. Often, these bad effects may pose a hindrance to the character’s smooth progression in the story.

And so you will have no choice but to remove the trait if its bad effects outweigh the good ones. However, removing traits can be a difficult task. Each of the ways to remove a trait is distinct and effect-sensitive. This guide will present you with ways to remove traits in Starfield.

How to Remove Traits in Starfield

Note that, once you remove a trait, there is no going back. You will not be able to reequip the trait or replace it with another one. Opting for a trait is a one-time process and can only be done during character creation.

Coming to the main part, the easiest process for removing traits is to see a doctor. Simply going to your nearest Doctor and asking to remove the trait will do. But there is a catch- it will cost you 10,000 Credits, which is definitely a hefty amount of money. So, if you don’t want to spend credits and are looking for a cost-free way out, the next process is for you.

A cost-free removal process requires you to carry out a specific task, depending on the type of trait. Below are the how-to’s for removing a trait:
