The South Asia Nationals is back with Stage 2, where the best teams in the South Asia region will fight off to become the Nationals Champion. Earlier this year, Ubisoft had recognized this region for the first time ever, and since then the grind continued for all the South Asian teams.
Just like Stage 1 of the South Asia Nationals, the top four teams of this tournament will directly qualify for the November Six Major. Ubisoft has also confirmed that November Six Major will still continue to be an online event, which is why it is being titled as the ‘Mini-Major’.
The South Asia Nationals stage 2 started on October 23rd, with the Grand Final taking place today. And as the tournament progressed, we now have our 4 teams confirmed for the November ‘Mini-Major’.
- MercenarieZ
- Team L2K
- MonkaS
- Union Gaming
MercenarieZ and Live 2 Kill were the first two teams to secure their place for the next Major. The former South Asia Nationals winner MrcZ beat the August Major Champions Union Gaming to move to the upper bracket finals. On the other hand, L2K made it into ‘Mini-Major’ for the first time, while the other 3 teams will be making a return to the top stage once again.
Union Gaming was on the verge of losing their Major spot on their matchup versus Kira E-Sports. However, with a reverse-sweep UG came out as a victor, when they were only a round away from being eliminated from the Nationals and the November Major. So this means UG will have another chance to grab more Six Invitational points and confirm their position in the top 16th place of the Global Point standings.
Union Gaming also defeated L2K in the lower bracket finals and will join MercenarieZ in the Grand Finals for a rematch. The teams will be fighting for the $4000 winners prize and MrcZ will be trying their best to defend the crown. You can watch the finals live on YouTube.
