Sony’s PlayStation Studios has decided to invest funds in the development of Haven Studio‘s first videogame. Herman Hulst, PlayStation Studios Head has since commented:
“Sony Interactive Entertainment is proud to support and invest in Haven and its future. We understand the challenges and rewards of building creative teams from the ground up, as does Jade with her wealth of experience helping many of gaming’s biggest franchises. We’re confident in and excited for the bright future of Haven Studios and its first project, currently in development.”
Jade has been in the business of making videogames for over 25 years now. She has not only worked on Assassin’s Creed and Watchdogs but also Star Wars on console and PC. Moreover, she had also guided Ubisoft Toronto’s team in their development of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which was the studio’s first game.
Raymond herself has commented:
“Launching an independent studio with the backing of Sony Interactive Entertainment gives us full freedom to push boundaries with the support of a publisher that deeply understands the creative process of making games and is known for exceptional quality and a player-first approach.”
When asked about the concept behind the name, Raymond stated that she wanted the name of her studio to reflect it serving as a “haven for players”. Sony has given Raymond the full freedom of exercising her creativity. Therefore, we can expect to see another Masterpiece on its way.
