Sony has decided to skip E3 again this year. They weren’t present last year also. many believe that they are gonna host their own big PS5 event somewhere around E3.
Sony has decided that it is time for finding new ways to interact with their fans and E3 might not be the answer anymore. Sony officials confirmed in a statement that they are gonna skip E3. This has practically given Xbox a free rein over the event again this year.

A statement released by sony said that. " After a thorough evaluation, SIE has decided not to participate in E3 2020. We have great respect for the ESA as an organization, but we do not feel the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue for what we are focused on this year. We will build upon our global events strategy in 2020 by participating in hundreds of consumer events across the globe. Our focus is on making sure fans feel part of the PlayStation family and have access to play their favorite content. We have a fantastic line up of titles coming to PlayStation 4, and with the upcoming launch of PlayStation 5, we are truly looking forward to a year of celebration with our fans "
Especially Kotaku’s Jason Schreier in a tweet claimed that sony might skip this year again and they officially announced it right now. He later also explained that there might be some kind of tension or disagreement with ESA that has played a major factor in Sony not attending this year’s E3.
Right now Sony’s event that will officially reveal PS5 is not fixed yet. Many are speculating that it might be held somewhere between E3 and other big events. All this really gives Xbox some leeway to maybe announce something bigger in E3 this year. We will have to stay tuned to find out more.
