But this time around, things seem to change. As it is now confirmed that some of the biggest video game companies will be joining in to showcase their projects at Gamescom 2021. Hence, expect to see some big announcements, reveals, and some sweet gameplay videos.
The major developers and publishing companies joining Gamescom 2021 are Activision, EA, Ubisoft, Xbox, 505 Games, Bandai Namco, Bethesda Softworks, Koch Media, Sega, Team17, and Wargaming. Furthermore loads of indie showcases will also be present. In fact, 80 indie titles will unveil and demonstrated different virtual booths. All the mentioned developers and publishers are set to make an appearance at various programs during Gamescom 2021. From Gamescom Now to Gamescom: Opening Night Live and the Gamescom Studio.
Gamescom 2021 will also be completely digital as mentioned before with the digital booths. Although, a mix of both in-person and digital events was planned initially. But like almost all events that plan had changed.
By the looks of it, Gamescom 2021 is looking like one of the biggest shows of this year. As we’ll surely see some head-turning announcements and gameplay. On the other hand, both Sony and Nintendo’s name is missing in this list.
This is kind of normal now as Nintendo already held its own Treehouse event. Additionally, Sony has been canceling E3 for a while now. As they host their own show with the State of Play. It is also possible that they will announce their arrival at a later date.
Gamescom 2021 will take place from August 25 to August 27. Don’t forget to tune in.
