This is not the first time rumors like these have surfaced. Over the years, there were a lot of rumors and discussions about Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome sequel under development.
Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome was revealed first as a Kinect-only title for the Xbox 360. Down the line, the game was then moved to Xbox One. Where the 3rd person, hack and slash became a launch title and dropped the emphasis on Kinect.
When Ryse: Son of Rome was first announced, it was thought to be the next competitor to PlayStation’s God of War. But, the game did not meet favorable reviews from a lot of gamers and critics. Especially due to its short, monotonous, and very linear gameplay. Although, when it first released, it awed everyone with its jaw-dropping visuals and detailed graphics. Something that still beats many games to this day. Hence, the game felt like moreover a graphical demo, using the full power of the Xbox One console.
On the other hand, there are still quite a lot of gamers that became fans of this Roman History-inspired title. So, rumors about a Ryse: Son of Rome sequel under development is surely good news for them. Maybe this time, the game will exceed expectations with a more enjoyable gameplay and story.
As of now no details about the game are known, whether the game will be an Xbox exclusive or multi-plat. According to Special Ed, Crytek will probably work on the game to be multiplatform.
