But it seems Capcom left out a piece of big news. That is the Resident Evil 7 next-gen upgrade for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Furthermore, this was first posted by prominent leaker Dusk Golem on Twitter.

When asked about Resident Village VR, he replied that the VR edition of the game was in development. But as of now, he knows nothing about it. However, he mentions that a next-gen patch of Resident Evil for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 is “100% happening”. Therefore, it probably means that the VR version of RE7 will also be getting the next generation facelift.

Resident Evil 7 with its beautiful and detailed visuals, eerie and stressful surroundings, tight corridors, truly deserve a 4k 60fps facelift. Or maybe we will some 120fps gameplay. But that is quite unlikely.

For those who haven’t played yet, RE7 is one of the best Resident Evil and survival horror experiences out there. If the leak of a next-patch is true, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 owners should jump in ASAP. Will be a good warm-up for the upcoming Resident Evil Village.

A demo of the game is now playable on PS5.
