PC players will have to re-buy Hitman 2 to unlock its levels on Hitman 3.
IO Interactive’s upcoming game Hitman 3 will not allow players to play Hitman 2 levels unless you buy it. Just five days from its launch date IO Interactive gave a long post about the upcoming game. Players on PC will have to buy it separately to get access to Hitman 2 levels, unlike console players.

OI added, “We have set up H1 and H2 as DLC for HITMAN 3.” It further adds that unlike Hitman 2, where we could play Hitman 1 at no additional cost, Hitman 3 will not offer this. Hitman 3 was supposed to have this option, as announced in August 2020, but it seems they decided against it.
If you own a PC, you might have a problem since you can’t own Hitman 2 on the Epic store. Hitman 3 is a timed Epic Game Store exclusive and is coming out on the 20th of January. And since it is not available on the Epic Game store, you will have to re-buy it to play on Hitman 3.
“As Hitman 2 is not available on EGS, we have set up an 80% discount for this access pass for the first 14 days after Hitman 3’s launch,” IO Interactive wrote. They will also be offering the expansion pass of Hitman 2. To conclude all of this, they will be giving a huge discount so that players purchase Hitman 2.
If you are a console gamer, you can access it on January 20th. Although, if you are a PC gamer who plays on steam, you will have to wait a year to play it. You can still purchase it on Epic Games Store, but you cannot play Hitman 2 until you buy it.
