DreamHack Open March 2021: North America is a two-stage double-elimination format (GSL) group tournament held online. Here 8 teams compete for the $70,000USD prize-pool and the winning team also qualifies for IEM Summer 2021 scheduled in June of this year.

paiN Gaming secured 2nd place in group B winning two of their matches and losing one. Team Liquid secured 1st place in group A winning both of their matches. They faced each other in the playoffs where paiN Gaming managed to clinch victory.

In Dust 2, paiN started on the CT side and secured a slight advantage at halftime. On the terrorist side, they kept their consistency and clinched the map. But in Overpass, Team Liquid came back strong and took the map by a convincing scoreline. Finally, the last map was Inferno as the decider. in the first half, both teams had a competitive scoreline and were evenly matched. But in the second half Team Liquid struggled to break paiN’s defense and paiN swiftly got the rounds they needed, closing out the map as well as the series.
Out of all the players, EliGE and saffee showed outstanding performances from Team Liquid and paiN gaming respectively.

Despite being the underdogs, paiN gaming proved themselves and secured a spot in the DreamHack Open March: 2021 finals to fight for the championship as well as a spot in IEM Summer 2021.
