How to Fix Account Merge in Overwatch 2

In Overwatch, all PC players need a battle.net account to play the game, but console players don’t need that. With the new system in Overwatch 2, they are implementing cross-progression across all the consoles and PC. So all players need to have a battle.net account. They can connect their IDs to a newly created battle.net account to merge the progression across all platforms.

But the problem is, this is often not working in the game. And even when you connect and merge the IDs’, there are situations when players lose in-game items or get their heroes locked even if they had all of them unlocked before.

Blizzard has officially put out a statement regarding the problem. They are saying the account merge is working as intended, but it is taking a bit of time because all the players are jumping in simultaneously. So you can wait until the initial rush dies out to connect your account. In the meantime, you can still enjoy Overwatch as you used to.

As for the lost cosmetics, no data has been wiped out. Blizzard says they have all the info and are working on a fix right now. The fix will go live between October 10th to 16th. That should return all the lost items to the player. But in the worst-case scenario, you can always contact support to get your items back.
