Nvidia has stated that it will stop support driver updates for Windows 7 and 8. But security updates will still be provided
The GPU manufacturing giant Nvidia has recently announced that they will stop giving their Game Ready Driver updates to Windows 7 and 8. Hence, from October 2021, these updates will only be exclusive to Windows 10 users. Although security updates will still be delivered to these now backdated Windows OS versions. That too until 2024.

Nvidia announced the news of stopping support of Windows 7 and Windows 8 on their official website. Where they stated that the Game Ready Drivers will only be exclusive to Windows 10. While older windows will still get important security updates.
But don’t get sad yet, as this will take into effect from October 2021. Till then, Nvidia Game Ready Driver updates will still come to Windows 7, 8, 8.1. This news will surely disappoint some gamers. A number of users dislike Windows 10 and prefer to stick with the older ones. Especially Windows 7. Not a surprising announcement from Nvidia as Windows has stopped supporting these platforms. In fact, Microsoft will be showing us a new OS, on June 24th. Probably.
Moreover, this is common for tech companies as they strive to pick up newer technologies and up-to-date platforms as soon as possible. Hence, making their work easier and focused on the future. On the other hand, this will surely affect a good amount of users as they will get left behind on new features. But as a completely new Windows OS is seemingly on the horizon this was bound to happen. Right now Nvidia is seemingly more busy working on the latest RTX 30 series GPUs and DLSS.
