For the celebration of March 12, World Day Against Cyber Censorship, The Uncensored Library has opened in Minecraft. The objective is to act as a virtual library for safe journalism in countries where press freedom is censored. Minecraft is not.

There are 5 whole libraries for 5 countries. Including other symbolic creations such as statues that signify the oppressive control over freedom of information. For example, the room for Saudi Arabia contains only a singular cage at its center. Representing the capture and torture of independent journalists.

This ambitious project is a collaboration of Reporters Without Borders, a group whose aim is to ensure absolute global press freedom and BlockWorks, a group of professional designers in Minecraft.

To gain access to the library, you need 1.14.4 edition of the Java edition. In the multiplayer menu type “visit.uncensoredlibrary.com’ in the server IP section. Moreover, players have the ability to download it on their pc and play, alone or with friends.

Above all, the digital library is a huge step in ensuring the youth to learn the ability to differentiate, judge and form opinions. Without exterior influence.
