Professional CSGO player Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt is switching to VALORANT.
Over its lifetime VALORANT has attracted many professionals from different games. However, due to the similarity between the two games, many CSGO professionals turned their eyes towards this FPS title from Riot Games. In a recent tweet, French professional Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt confirmed his entry into VALORANT. While it’s an exciting news for the VALORANT competitive scene, it’s also a piece of sad news for the CSGO fanbase.
His announcement came out in the form of a short video in which he appeared as the agent Cypher, possibly hinting at his agent of choice. Both CSGO & VALORANT communities responded to this tweet wishing him the best of luck in this endeavor.
NBK- is known as one of the best CSGO players in the world with more than 10 tournament wins over the last 5 years. He has been a part of reputable teams such as VeryGames, LDLC, EnVyUs, G2, Vitality and OG. He has won two majors and been included in the top 20 players three consecutive times. Thus, it’s clear that the VALORANT competitive scene is receiving a virtuoso.
During the VCT Masters 2, it was clear that the EU VALORANT scene is full of talents & prodigies. When it comes to a professional like Nathan, it’s tough to predict anything about him. Considering the timing of the announcement, it’s possible that NBK- is aiming for Masters 3 in Berlin. However, with teams like Team Liquid, Fnatic and FPX in the mix, it will be an arduous path.
NBK-’s announcement video doesn’t provide any clue of his next roster move. With an impressive resume like his, he should have no problems joining any big organization. For now, we can only wait and see what his path entails.
