For now, there are around 16 characters you can choose from to play online or against your friends.
Moreover, if you are wondering which characters are the best to use inside this game, we have divided this guide into two parts, one where we discuss the best characters of each class. The other section will look at the in-depth Season 1 Tier List of MultiVersus.
Best Characters in MultiVersus Season 1
Warner Bros is back with a new fighting game that will include characters from different universes. This fighting game has always dominated the market due to the collaboration between many fan-favorite shows and cartoons. However, like every other fighting game, this one also has characters from many different fronts. Moreover, each of these characters inside Season 1 of MultiVersus is unique, and each will give you a different vibe when you play with them.
In fact, there are five types of classes inside MultiVersus which help distinguish between these characters. These classes are Assassin, Bruiser, Mage, Support, and Tank. Furthermore, we have made a complete list of the best characters in Season 1 to play from each class below:
Best Assassin Character
Assassin class has characters who are the best damage dealers and can take on enemies alone in a fight. Among the 16 characters, there are around three assassins in the game: Arya Stark, Finn The Human, and Harley Quinn.
Of these three characters, Harley Quinn is the best for racking up kills and lots of damage. Her vertical attacks make her accessible and fast, and her weapons make her even more deadly. In conclusion, her hammer, traps, and abilities make her the best Assassin Character.
Best Bruisers Character
Bruisers always do damage from specific areas and keep the enemy thinking about what they are going to do next. Unlike Assassins, you must position Bruisers to use them best. Among other Bruisers, Taz is the best one players can pick to keep their enemies at bay and finally kill them. Taz has a unique ability where dealing damage to him is hard. In addition, Taz can heal himself and slow down enemies.
Best Mage Character
Suppose you are someone who likes to attack from a distance using their list of tricks and weapons. Mages are good characters that you can use to distract or keep the enemy busy. However, this class is hard to master as you will need to learn different tricks involving the Mage you are using.
Moreover, the best Mage inside the MultiVersus is Bugs Bunny. Even though his attacks have a decent amount of cooldowns but once you master this character, enemies will not be able to damage you.
Best Support Character
This class is like what the name suggests. Using this class, you can boost your allies by giving these Buffs and healing them. Moreover, you can shield your allies and slow down the enemies.
The best character you can use for this class is Riendog. However, since he is a supporting character, if you use to go 1v1 with your enemy, you will be good as dead. You can use Riendog to get your allies out of a tight position and save them from going on and winning the match.
Best Tank Character
Even though there are only two Tanks inside the game right now, without a Tank, it can be tough to win a 2v2. Tanks are essential to give your damage dealer or teammate more time to survive and deal damage.
The best Tank amount all characters is Wonder Woman. Not only can she hold on by taking damage, but she can also deal with a reasonable amount, starting from stunning an enemy to giving shields and pulling them using Lasso. Wonder Woman will always be a great option since she can do both offense and defense.
MultiVersus Season 1 Character Tier List

Below we have added a complete Season 1 MultiVersus Tier List based on their performances in 1v1 and 2v2. Moreover, this personal opinion on these characters could be different for you. Since it is a fighting game, getting used to a character and mastering it is the ultimate way to victory.
Tier | Character Name |
Best (S-Tier) | Harley Quin, Taz |
Good (A-Tier) | Batman, Tom, and Jerry, Superman, Shaggy, Wonder Woman, Bugs Bunny |
Average (B-Tier) | The Iron Giant, Finn the Human, Arya Stark, Reindog, Velma, Jake the Dog, Lebron James, Morty |
Not Recommended (C-Tier) | Steven Universe, Garnet |
S-Tier
Harley Quinn
To start our MutliVersus Character Tier List, in our S-Tier, we have put two characters out of the 16-characters. Among them, Harley Quinn, as mentioned above, is the best Assassin character in the game.
Not only does she make it as the best Character in Assassin Class, but she is one of the best characters in the game. Her debuff stats attacks, traps, and hard-hitting hammer. To sum her up, she is one of the characters meant to go berserk in the game on her own and with teammates.
Taz
On the other hand, Taz is among the best Bruiser characters and has also made it to the S-Tier of MultiVersus. No one can do it better than Taz if you are looking to cause an absolute menace inside the game. This Looney Tunes character is cute but is deadly when it comes to fighting. Close up. He can be one of the most challenging characters to defeat. Plus, thanks to his passive ability, he can heal himself.
A-Tier
Batman
Around six characters have been made in our A-Tier MultiVersus character list. These include Batman, Tom and Jerry, Superman, Shaggy, Wonder Woman, and The Iron Giant. To start with the most fan-favorite character of all time, Batman is undoubtedly one of the top characters you can use in the game. In addition, Batman has good gadgets that include his bombs and grapples.
The Dark Knight is a detective, and you must be Technical here to use him. Batman is a great character if you use him well. However, all characters inside A-Tier miss that golden touch to make their way to S-Tier.
Tom And Jerry
If you have ever played the fighting game Tom and Jerry: Fist of Furry, you are already hyped up. However, this fighting game is way different than that one.
Here Tom and Jerry appear as mages. But, they are still a strong character inside the game as they can be beneficial during 2v2 matches. They have significant special attacks, too, so overall, they are an excellent combo to choose from.
Superman
The Man of Steel might not be the most powerful in MultiVersus, but he sure does pack a punch in the game. Along with his series of Special Attacks and Armored attacks, Superman is an excellent addition to your team. The best part about him comes from his Passive ability, which can be very helpful in battle.
Shaggy
Are you excited to use Shaggy and go Super Saiyan using him? Well, MultiVersus will let you do all that and more. Shaggy is a fun character to play and could be one of the best characters in the game if you master it to its full potential.
Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman, as mentioned above, is an excellent Tank to play within the game. She has good defensive and offensive attacks, and her Special Abilities place her in our A-Tier.
Bugs Bunny
One of the decent characters inside MultiVersus is Bugs Bunny. He is one of the best Mage characters in the game. Thanks to his attacks, he can do distance and special abilities. In addition, he can avoid enemies and deal damage. Overall he is a good character if you use him well, which takes him to our A-Tier.
B-Tier
The Iron Giant
Moving on to the B-Tier of all MultiVersus Characters Tier List, filled with average characters. They are decent to use, and you can have fun with them, but if you are looking for characters that can give you the dub. Unfortunately, you will have to choose characters from Tier A or S.
The first character on our Tier B list is The Iron Giant. The Iron Giant has good attacks and abilities, but the only thing that makes him out of Tier B is his Size. He is way too big to use inside the game and straightforward to defeat as his Hitbox is bigger.
Finn, the Human
As an Assassin, Finn is the worst character in the game. However, his stack-ups can do great damage in the right situation. Therefore, Finn can be a decent character to use along with a Tank or Support.
Arya Stark
Another decent assassin is Arya Star, who can rip defenses to shreds if used ideally. She is undoubtedly better than Finn, and you can count on her if you manage to play her well. Again, she has good potential, but it depends on the user’s skill and how well you can do with her. In fact, her abilities are the most complex characteristics to use in the game.
Reindog
He is the only original character in the game. Riendog makes up the best support character in the game. However, the only disadvantage of using him is that you will never be able to take on any enemy one-on-one. Nevertheless, his abilities make him worthwhile support to be used inside the game. He has good special and stat-based attacks, which can give your allies the advantage and enemies the disadvantage.
Velma
If you like solving mysteries, MultiVersus even has Velma as a character you can use to fight. Velma is a supporting character inside MultiVersus, and she has good abilities to buff allies. In fact, she can also damage her enemies with her attacks like Fast Thinker. Velma also has an excellent passive ability which can help her escape any challenging situation. She is a decent character and gets a place in our B-Tier.
Jake the Dog
The last character in our B-Tier List is Jake the Dog. He is from the Bruiser class and can do a decent job dealing damage if you can use him well. Jake has interesting attacks like Rubber Stomach, a special attack to even eat the enemy. Moreover, you can also use him to transform, but his transformation attacks are kind of slow and easy to dodge. It is the only reason he is in the B-Tier and not above. Jake is unsuitable for close combat, but you can get decent damage if you use him from a range.
LeBron James
Even though this was one of the most hyped-up players inside the game when it was about to come out. LeBron is still to impact the current meta of the game. As for the Season 1 of Multiversus, he makes his way to the B Tier of our Tier list. He does not have abilities that allow him to escape situations, which makes him vulnerable, especially without the ball in his hand. He is not among the best characters but decent enough to make it to the B tier.
Morty
Another Brawler has been added to the game from one of the all-time favorite series of this era. Unfortunately, he is yet another character who does not go well along with the meta of Season 1. However, unlike LeBron, Morty does have good potential to become a strong character if the right meta comes into play. As the seasons might change, we could see him going up, but for now, he remains in the same Tier as LeBron.
C-Tier
Steven Universe
Coming down to our last Tier with only two characters. Steven Universe is one of them, and we don’t recommend playing using him. In regards to a supporting character, Steven is the worst one, and overall, he does not do great as a character. His attacks, when compared to others, are not as valuable. That makes puts him in our C-Tier.
Garnet
Garnet is the last character on our MultiVersus Character Tier List. Like Steven Garnet, another character does not shine when you compare it to others. She is the worst type of Bruiser in the game. She has some good attacks but lacks many things for good character. You can use her just for fun, but we will not recommend taking them when you are in a competitive mood.
