How Many Maps are There in VALORANT?
There are a total of 14 maps in VALORANT. Among these maps, 10 are playable in all game modes except Team Deathmatch. For Team Deathmatch, there are a total of 3 maps. Moreover, a dedicated map for Training is known as the Practice Range.
Most Played Maps in VALORANT
The most played maps in VALORANT are mostly the old ones loved by the community. Currently, two maps, Pearl and Fracture, have been removed from the Competitive map pool. So, let’s take a look at the most played maps in VALORANT in the last 30 days.
5. Breeze
The tropical map located in the Bermuda Triangle, Breeze, was formerly the largest map in VALORANT. The map returned to VALORANT with the recent Act after a huge rework. Currently, the map is the least played map, with 7.3% of total matches played in the last 30 days.
The map is balanced for both Attackers and Defenders. However, due to it being an Attacker map since its inception, players get the upper hand while attacking. Furthermore, the map rewards players with accurate aim at long-range engagements.
4. Split
Split is a map located in Shinjuku, Japan, where the map is split into two sides. The A site of the map features the brutal takeover of the Kingdom Corporation, and the B site of the map shows the residents fighting back to gain control over their habitat. 14.7% of the total matches played in the last 30 days have been in Split.
Split is a Defender-sided map. The main choke point of the map is the mid. If Attackers gain Mid control, they can execute into B site or choose to drop into Vents to move to A site. However, locking down Mid leaves Attackers no option but to rush through the narrow entry points of both bombsites.
3. Haven
Haven is a monastery situated in Thimphu, Bhutan, of the Alpha Earth. It is the first map of VALORANT to feature three bomb sites. Haven has been a community-loved map since the game’s launch. In the last 30 days, 14.8% of the total matches played have been in Haven.
Haven is a versatile map as it allows players to make creative plays by moving into any site they want to. The map is Attacker-sided, as they can crowd a site that a maximum of two players will mostly hold down. The Garage area of Haven is the biggest choke point. If Attackers gain control over Garage, they can move into C and hold rotation from Defender spawn and B-site.
2. Bind
Cypher’s homeland, Bind, is situated in Rabat, Morroco of Alpha Earth. Bind is the only map with a Teleporter, which allows players to rotate to both sites almost instantly. In the last 30 days, 14.8% of total matches were played in Bind.
Bind favors Defenders heavily. The map has narrow entry points, making it difficult for Attackers to enter both sites. Moreover, Bind is an Operator-friendly map for Defenders. They can easily hold Operators from B-long or A-rafters.
1. Ascent
Aside from the initial three maps, Ascent is the first map added to VALORANT. The floating map is located in Venice, Italy, on Alpha Earth. Ascent is the most played map in VALORANT since the game’s launch. In the last 30 days, 14.8% of total matches were played on this map, which is the same as Haven and Bind.
Ascent has been a part of many iconic VALORANT moments. The map leans towards the Defenders; however, the Mid is the biggest chokepoint on the map. The first team to gain Mid-control can flip the round in their favor.

Take this with a grain of salt, as the data above has been acquired from Valorbuff, so it might not be considered 100% accurate. However, Valorbuff uses a huge sample size. So, it is the most reliable data we currently have.
The most played maps in VALORANT are directly influenced by the leading pro teams and the whole player base since the game’s launch. Aside from these maps, Lotus, Fracture, and Pearl are also played in all game modes. Unfortunately, Fracture and Pearl were removed from the Competitive map pool for an overall rework based on community feedback in the recent patch.
