Minecraft has been one of the best survival crafting games since its release. But gaining XP is not that easy in the game. So here we will show you how to farm for XP in Minecraft.
Minecraft is one of the best survival crafting games that has ever been released. And since its release, with each update, it has only gotten bigger and bigger. The game has many different, unique mechanics for you to interact with. You can craft your own tools using different materials and use those to either make your own base and farm or go on an adventure and fight with mobs.
Fighting different hostile mobs gives you XP. The actual amount of XP depends on what mob you are killing. Different mobs give you different levels of XP based on how hard they are to kill. While this is one way to gain XP, this is not the only way. Farming and fishing also give you XP. With that in mind, here are some ways you can farm XP in Minecraft.
Best Ways to Farm XP in Minecraft
The best way to farm XP in Minecraft is to make an AFK farming machine. There are many different AFK farms that are on the internet which can be made in different points of the game. We have found two for you to farm at the early and late stages of the game.
Early Game Fish Farm
The YouTuber Rediscover Redstone has made a really easy-to-build fish farm that you can use in the early game. This farm doesn’t require too much stuff. These are the items you will need:
- 2 Chests
- 1 Hopper
- 1 Fence
- 1 Pressure Plate
- 1 Trap Door
- 1 Bucket of water
- 1 Note Block
- 1 Solid Block (of any kind)
- 1 Fishing Rod
Most of the items you can get in the early game. Once you have all the items, follow this Video to make the XP farm. Along with XP, you will also get fish through this farm. So, you won’t need to worry about food either. But you will need a constant supply of fishing rods for the farm since the rods will break after some time. This farm is able to give 5-8 levels in 5 minutes.
Late Game Enderman Farm
Enderman Farm is one of the most popular XP farms in the game. For this farm, you will need to reach The End and kill the Ender Dragon. Only after that will you be able to make this farm. While the farm doesn’t require too much end-game material, the Ender Dragon, if kept alive, can destroy the platform and mess up your farm. YouTuber Rediscover Redstone has an excellent design for this farm. These are the materials you will need:
- 3 stacks of Leaf (64 pieces per stack)
- 6.5 stacks of stones (64 pieces per stack)
- 0.5 stack of Slab (32 pieces)
- 9 Hopper
- 2 Chests
- 1 Bucket of Water
Once you gather all the materials, go to The End area to start working on the farm. You can follow this Video to guide yourself through the making process. Once you are done with it, you will have an efficient XP farm, which will give you easy levels very quickly in the game.
