Microsoft is now charging more for Xbox Live Gold membership

The prices on Xbox Live Gold are increasing, announced on the website.

After more than 10 years of not changing the price on Xbox Live Gold, Microsoft has finally decided to increase it. These price changes and details were announced on the Microsoft website. They added that the prices will increase by $1 more for 1 month and $5 for 3 months.

The price of 6 months is also increasing although, the increase will not affect current users. Six months Xbox and 12-month users can renew their membership at the current price. In conclusion, one month will now cost $10.99, three months will cost $29.99, and six months will cost $59.99.

However, current Gold members can upgrade their membership to Game Pass Ultimate at no additional cost. So summing-up, you can convert up to 11 months of Gold to Ultimate if you are a new user.

These changes will not take effect at least 45 days before the Xbox Live subscriber receiving a message saying they will increase. They added that some regions have already got the messages and others will get them soon. “If you’re in a region where prices are being adjusted, you will receive an email and a message center notification over the next month letting you know what the new pricing is for your membership,” said Microsoft.
