Konami and Bloober Team go into Strategic Partnership following Silent Hill Rumors

This partnership between Konami and Bloober Team has reinforced the rumors of a possible Silent Hill game being in the making.

Bloober Team is a Polish video game developing company. They are most famously known for their horror titles like Blair Witch, Layers of Fear, Observer. Moreover, the studio also launched another hit survival horror game this year named The Medium.

The rumors of a new Silent Hill game have always been around. Players have been waiting for a reboot or remake of this beloved franchise for decades. Given Bloober Team’s expertise in creating horror titles, the dream may finally be closer to reality.

Konami has announced a strategic partnership agreement with Bloober Team, whereby they will share resources to create “high-quality content” together. However, details surrounding the collaboration have not yet been disclosed. Representative Director and President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Hideki Hayakawa, has commented:

We have been providing unique entertainment content and ways to enjoy it through the use of information technology. In the digital entertainment industry, significant changes in the business environment are expected in the future. We look forward to combining Bloober Team’s and our respective characteristics and strengths to create high-quality content.

In Bloober Team’s own corporate statement addressing this partnership, Bloober Team’s President, Piotr Babieno, commented:

“It is a historic day for me and the culmination of several years of our work. The fact that such a renowned company as KONAMI has decided to strategically cooperate with the Bloober Team means that we also joined the world leaders in gaming and became an equal partner for the leading players in this market.

However, Konami has stated that although they are looking for more partnership opportunities, they will still be working on in-house titles. The Konami representative stated:

“Our alliance with Bloober Team is one area where we are continuing to evolve our approach to game development. We will continue to explore partnerships with a variety of development companies as well as continue in-house development of key projects among our own teams, as we have done for many years”
