Here is a complete list of the Basic Units in Kaiju Wars.
If you were a fan of Commander Vs. Conquerer, Kaiju Wars would be a game you would love to play. It is yet another defensive strategy game where you have to defend against Kaiju’s attacking your base. It has a 1980s theme which gives it a different aesthetic and contributes to its gameplay.
To defend against Kaijus, players will have access to different kinds of military, research labs, and resources. The military in this game is divided into two sections, one containing the Basic Units and the other containing the Special Units. In this guide, we will break out all the Basic Units in the game and give you a step ahead of which could be the best one to use.
All Basic Units in Kaiju Wars
There are 11 Basic Units you can use in Kaiju Wars. These will include units like Tanks to Artilleries. Each unit is different from the other, and they consist of something unique that helps you deal with certain types of Kaijus. Below you can check out our breakdown of each Basic Unit.
Most players might label Radar as one of the weakest units in the game, but it can be a very effective weapon to use in the game if you pair it nicely. For example, if you paired it up with Data Protocol, Radar would give you 2 Science points if the Kaiju is within two tiles of your Radar.
Even though it has the lowest damage in the entire section of Basic Units, it can be helpful to use it carefully. Radar does 1 unit of damage to both ground and Flying enemies and has 0 counter damage. However, it has 2 unit speed which gives it a fair bit of advantage in battle.
If you are looking for a unit that can pack a punch against Kaijus, Bomber is your guy. Bomber is quick and very effective against all kinds of Kaiju. It is undoubtedly one of the best Basic Units in the game, which can be very good as a blocker and damage dealer against all Ground Kaijus. The bomber is also not slowed down by terrain, which is a plus point. With good damage, speed, and aerial advantage, bombers are certainly a Basic unit you will use from time to time against all Kaijus.
Another aerial unit in Kaiju Wars is the Bushplane, but it has little to no use when it comes to combat. It is one of the fastest units in the game, and the only job is to get rid of crisis tiles or burning zones during a mission. Buring zones are areas where Kaijus can heal themselves and places where your units will not be able to go, so using a Bushplane will be somewhat crucial during a mission in the game.
Following the aerial units, the last and probably the fastest team is Fighter. You can compare this unit with the Tank in your air. With a speed rating of 4, it can move past and damage very quickly. Fighters can go over any obstacles in their paths, but the only place it lacks is damage done. They can do only 1 unit of damage to air and ground targets and counter damage of 2 units. If you are looking for a unit to do damage quickly to Kaijus nearby Fighter will be your top choice.
Like the Tank, the Anti-Aircraft is another unit used for only one task. Players can use this Unit to slow Kaijus again and damage both ground and Flying Kaijus. The Anit-Aircraft does twice the amount of damage to Flying enemies and 1 unit of damage to ground enemies. Unlike Tank, it only does one counter damage. Overall it is a good unit, especially against Flying Kaijus. It is one of the most effective ones.
As the name suggests, Missiles are not only suitable for Flying Kaijus. They do good damage to both ground and air-type enemies. With base damage of 2 to ground enemies and 3 to air enemies, on paper, it looks like a decent unit. However, its inability to go past forests and terrains does make it a unit you will have to use with precision and thinking. Moreover, Missiles don’t have the best speed rating, so they will not be good against fast Kaijus if you don’t time your attacks well.
One of the most basic units you find yourself using in the game is Tank. Apart from its weakness of not being able to hit flying Kaijus, the Tank can be a handy unit as it can slow down Kaijus from moving. Moreover, Tank also does a basic Damage of 1, but it can counter-double the counter damage.
They have a Speed rating of 2, but they can be important if used the right way with their ability to slow down Kaijus. It might not look much, but slowly down Kaijus by one will allow your other troops to give a good counterattack.
Artillery can be a very effective unit if you use it well. If you prefer attacking from a distance in a defensive game, Artillery might be one of the units you will mainly operate in the game. Even though it has only base damage of 1, it cannot move once it attacks. As said before, this is a strategy game, and each unit contributes to playing a specific type of role in the game.
Another unit with good speed is Infantry, and it is best against Ground targets if you use it from a fixed position. Since Positioning an Infantry is a real issue, the game gives Infantry a unit speed of 3, which helps it get positions quickly and lets you damage enemies.
Infantry has base damage to 1 unit to ground Kaijus and 0 aerial Kaijus. However, it does have counter damage of two. The most important part about using the Infantry is positioning, as its ability lets it acquire double the damage for a counterattack if you don’t move it during its turn.
Lastly, the Police are the last of all the basic units in the Kaiju Wars. They are the best at maintaining order and peace in the real world, and back in Kaiju Wars, they will help you not spread the Crisis to surrounding tiles.
With a base and counter damage 1, their speed and ability make up for it; like Bushplane, they cannot handle combat. Instead, you can use them to control and minimize the damage to plan your next move at counterattacking. Plus, just using the Basic units will not give you the win in the game. You will need to handle resources, Special Units, and the Research Lab. But the thing that stands tall above all is planning your way through an attack in Kaiju Wars.
Kaiju Wars Best Basic Units – Tier List
- Best (S-Tier): Figher, Anit-Aircraft, Bomber
- Good (A-Tier): Tank, Infantry, Artillery, Police
- Average (B-Tier): Bushplane, Missiles
- Not Recommended (C-Tier): Radar
We have given the S tier to Fighter, Anti-Aircraft, and Bomber since they all check all bases for an S tier Unit. They can attack both types of Kaiju, have a decent amount of damage, and lastly, have mobility. We have put the decent enough units you can use in the A tier, but you will have to be very careful how you place them exactly. For example, the Infantry and Artillery are useless if you don’t get your placement right.
Missiles and Bushplane are the C tier as first Missiles are not able to go past Terrians, which don’t make them the most valuable card to play on hand, and Bushplane only does one job, which is to support the team, and on its own, it is not that great of a card. Radar lastly is our C tier as, from our point of view, it is a card you might find yourself not even using. It will require you to use Data Protocol to get some use.
