Hyper Scape Season 2 “The Aftermath” kicks off on October 6

Ubisoft’s futuristic battle royale Hyper Scape is starting its second season called “The Aftermath“, which begins October 6. The new season will be introducing new weapons, hacks, and a new Battle Pass to this free-to-play BR title.

Ubisoft has confirmed that season 2 will add a brand new district to Hyper Scape, a new ranking system that will allow players to grind through the different ranks from Bronze through to Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Champion. Players can also use the new Atrax weapon, which fires sticky bursts of timed explosives, or climb to new heights by deploying horizontal stepping stones with the limited-time Platform hack.

Two new modes will also be added, including the Crown Rush Duo and the Floor is Lava mode, which turns the ground into deadly magma. Other modes returning in Season 2 include Crown Rush, Faction War, and Turbo Mode. A new solo-queue mode is also being introduced, with a modifier called ‘Second Chance’, giving players who die early another chance to fight for the Crown.

Beginning with Season 2, players will receive a Daily Gift when they log into Hyper Scape, which can include Battle Points, cosmetics, and other items. The season’s new, 100-tier free and premium Battle Passes will also be a chance to earn exclusive rewards, including Champion outfits, deployment pods, and weapon skins.

The Season 2 announcement came after the recent post on the Ubisoft website, where Hyper Scape’s developers shared their thoughts and future plans for this game. “While July’s launch and Open Beta on PC were successful, we were not able to achieve the high expectations we set for ourselves with our full release on console that followed in August. We also know we didn’t fully meet the high expectations of our players, so we are taking action. We have more work to do to get there, but our team is fully committed to the challenge.”

The devs are aware of the lobby size issues and intend to bring Cross-Play earlier than planned to fill the lobbies quicker. Hopefully, the new updates will be able to boost this game for a strong future.
