Genshin Impact: Updated Xingqiu Build Guide 2022

Here is an updated build guide for Xingqiu, one of the best support characters in Genshin Impact.

Xingqiu is a 4-star Hydro sword character in Genshin Impact. One of the best support characters in the game, Xingqiu, is great because he can apply hydro fast and off-field. He is the second son of the Guild Manager of the Feiyun Commerce Guild, an influential group in Liyue, and a self-proclaimed practitioner of the Guhua Clan‘s arts.

Xingqiu is mainly played as a support or sub-DPS, depending on playstyle. Since Genshin Impact’s release, Xingqiu has single-handedly carried the entire pyro element. One of the best supports in the game, Xingqiu can apply Hydro super fast for elemental damage and reactions. On our Top 10 Best Genshin Impact Support characters list, Xingqiu was ranked in the top 3 of the list.

In Genshin Impact version 2.6 event Hues of the Violet Garden, players can get Xingqiu for free after completing all the quests and events.

Below is a comprehensive build guide for Xingqiu, one of the best supports in Genshin Impact.

Xingqiu Build Guide

Xingqiu Talents

Normal Attack: Guhua Style

Normal Attack: Performs up to five rapid strikes.

Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Elemental Skill

Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen

Xingqiu performs twin strikes with his sword, dealing Hydro DMG. At the same time, this ability creates the maximum number of Rain Swords, which will orbit your active character.
The Rain Swords have the following properties:

  • When a character takes DMG, the Rain Sword will shatter, reducing the amount of DMG taken.
  • Increases the character’s resistance to interruption.

20% of Xingqiu’s Hydro DMG Bonus will be converted to additional DMG Reduction for the Rain Swords.

The maximum amount of additional DMG Reduction that can be gained this way is 24%.

The initial maximum number of Rain Swords is 3.

Using this ability applies the Wet status onto the character.

Elemental Burst

Guhua Sword: Raincutter

Initiate Rainbow Bladework and fight using an illusory sword rain, while creating the maximum number of Rain Swords.

Rainbow Bladework

  • Your active character’s Normal Attacks will trigger consecutive sword rain attacks, dealing Hydro DMG.
  • Rain Swords will remain at the maximum number throughout the ability’s duration.

Passive Talents

Hydropathic

When a Rain Sword is shattered or when its duration expires, it regenerates the current character’s HP based on 6% of Xingqiu’s Max HP.

As we can see, Xingqiu doesn’t have a good free-to-play weapon for him, but he still has some available. Sacrificial Sword is the best in slot weapon for Xingqiu because of its high energy recharge and its passive. Sacrificial Sword’s passive allows Xingqiu to reset his skill after casting. This is very helpful in combat because you can use your elemental skill twice and apply Hydro twice and get a lot of energy for Xingqiu. Skyward Blade is also an excellent 5-star sword for Xingqiu because of its high energy recharge.

Festering Desire was an early event reward weapon that may not be available to newer players, but it’s a good option for Xingqiu. Favonius Sword is a good sword for Xingqiu because it will generate a lot of energy particles for your Xingqiu and your whole team. For a DPS-based Xingqiu, we recommend Primordial Jade Cutter because of its high Crit rate.

Playstyle

Xingqiu is considered an excellent support in Genshin Impact for Pyro-oriented teams. He can fit into any teams that require a Hydro applier, such as Diluc, Yoimiya, and Hu Tao teams. Xingqiu is important for Pyro-oriented teams because they rely mostly on vaporized reaction damage.

Xingqiu is also suitable for some Freeze team comps, such as Ayaka team comps. Xingqiu’s elemental skill and burst apply Hydro so fast that he is irreplaceable in the game. As well as applying Hydro, Xingqiu can also pull out some decent damage numbers as well. He is single-handedly carrying the entire Pyro roster because of how good he is. Xingqiu is also one of the core characters of the massively popular National teams.

Even though he is a 4-star character, his constellations are rare to get in Genshin Impact. Yet, Xingqiu is pretty good at C0, and he gradually becomes more powerful with each of his constellations. His sixth constellation, ‘Hence, Call Them My Own Verses’ is broken because it will generate a lot of energy whenever your Rainswords hit an enemy.

Best Team Comp

Xingqiu can be slotted into every team comp in Genshin Impact that requires a Hydro character, even with current fan-favorite National Team (Party of 4-stars) where Xingqiu plays a significant role. Main DPS characters like Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Diluc, Raiden Shogun, and Ayaka need Xingqiu in their party.

Here we listed some of the popular team comps for Xingqiu.

  1. Raiden Shogun, Bennett, Xingqiu, Xiangling
  2. Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennett, Chongyun
  3. Hu Tao, Xingqiu, Albedo, Zhongli
  4. Diluc, Bennett, Xingqiu, Venti
