Mihoyo released a statement recently regarding the Lantern Rite Illumiscreen bug in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact is currently celebrating the Chinese year of the Ox with an in-game event called Lantern Rite. In this event, players can take part in brand new quests and minigames. The event quests and minigames have gained a lot of popularity among the player base.
There is one quest in the Lantern Rite called the Illumiscreen. In this quest, players have to dig up treasures according to a map. The second part of the quest called “Illumiscreen: II” currently has a bug where players dig up the designated spot but no treasure shows up. This is preventing many from completing the quest thus halting progression.
Recently Mihoyo, the creators of Genshin Impact released an official statement acknowledging the bug.

The official Genshin Impact Twitter account released the following statement,
“Dear Travelers,
In the “Lantern Rite” event world quest “The Illumiscreen: II,” the treasure in Minlin cannot be dug up, thus preventing the completion of the quest objective.
The developers are already working to fix this issue. Please stay tuned to future announcements.”
Seems like fixing the bug right now is Mihoyo’s top priority as it is preventing game progression for a lot of people. So we hope Mihoyo fixes it soon.
We will update this article once a bug fix arrives for the Lantern Rite Illumiscreen bug in Genshin Impact.
Update:
The bugs has now been fixed and players above Adventure rank 5 will get 60 Primogems via in-game mail as compensation. The mail will expire after 30 days so be sure to collect it before then.
