Gambit Esports wins LOOTBET CS Season 8

LOOTBET CS Season 8 is organized by UCC which is an Online Swiss System format Single elimination type tournament where 20 teams fight for the $50,000 USD prize pool.

Team Gambit Esports beat Virtus pro 2:1 in the Best-of-3 series to secure the championship and take away the $25,000 USD first-place prize.

After losing the first map tensions rose as Virtus.Pro was just 1 map away from victory, but with great plays from Abay “Hobbit” Khasenov in Dust 2 and Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtov in Mirage, Gambit managed to pull off a reverse sweep and win the final in a pretty convincing way.

Gambit Esports has performed excellently in this tournament, winning both their initial matches with 2-0 victories vs Heretics and sAw keeping a clean sheet against the French and Portuguese teams, only dropping one map to Virtus.pro in the finals. They have performed consistently throughout the series considering the new roster was only formed on the 5th of October this year.

Due to the outstanding overall performance, Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov got the well-deserved MVP. With the 18 years old Russian already making his mark in the Esports scene, we can definitely expect great things from this youngster in the future.

Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov also showed top-notch performance, getting the highest average rating in the tournament. The Russian youngster has shown consistent plays throughout the tournament and has cemented his position in the team as their dedicated AWPer.
