G2 Esports are back on top, beating their fierce rivals BDS Esport 3-2 in an enthralling best-of-five series, and eventually taking the crown of the Rainbow Six Siege European Champions once again.
After the Six Invitational 2019, G2 Esports‘ dominating R6S team seemed to have lost their form. And losing to Team Empire in the 2019 Raleigh Major, G2’s reign in Siege esports was ending.
However, after a disappointing SI’20, G2 Esports began a new journey with their ‘Super Team‘, signing the two star players of CTZN and Virtue. But adapting to the new philosophy took some time, as G2 didn’t see much success in the Majors, losing to BDS Esport in the Six August Major 2020 and even failing to qualify for the November Major.
But now, it seems like G2 Esports has finally gotten their revenge against BDS. Led by two of their latest additions to the team, G2 managed to win the first edition of the R6S European Finals. CTZN with a 1.25 rating and Virtue with 1.19 were among the top performers in the team, with Virtue’s map winning toe-shot, being one of the best moments of the finals.
G2 Esports will be taking home the €50,000 prize pool. And with Six Invitational 2021 on the horizon, we’ll get to see them once again, along with BDS, Virtus Pro, Team Empire, and MKERS from the EU region.
