Fortnite On Next Gen: Day 1 Ready, Xbox, and PS5 Details and much more

The next-Gen console release is only a week away and Fortnite will be available to play from day 1. We also have details on how Fortnite will run on both consoles.

Epic Games recently released a blog post on their official website regarding Fortnite launching on the next-gen consoles. In the post, they provided details about Fortnite running on next-gen consoles as well as some other useful information.

Next-gen consoles are dropping as soon as next week and Fortnite will be available for download from day 1. So once you have a PS5 or an XBOX Series X you can immediately begin downloading Fortnite.

PICK UP YOUR PROGRESS

Once you get your hands on the Xbox or PS5 you can start downloading Fortnite right away. But what about your progress if you already played Fortnite on previous-gen consoles. You will be happy to know that all your progress will be carried over to the next-gen consoles. You will need to log into your Xbox, Epic, or PSN account to continue with your progress.

Below are all the details about what to expect while running Fortnite on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

FORTNITE ON XBOX SERIES X|S

The Xbox Series X and Series S will both be out on November 10th. These are the day 1 improvements for Fortnite on the Xbox Series X and S.

4K RESOLUTION AT 60 FPS ON SERIES X

The Xbox Series X will be able to run Fortnite with 4k resolution and 60 FPS for smoother gameplay and stunning visuals.

DYNAMIC VISUALS AND PHYSICS ON SERIES X

The Xbox Series X will feature dynamic visuals and physics in Fortnite. Trees and grass will react to explosions. Enhanced smoke and liquid simulation will also be a part of it which means cooler looking smoke and liquid. A new storm and cloud effect will also be available from day one.

1080P RESOLUTION AT 60 FPS ON SERIES S

The Xbox Series S on the other hand will support Fortnite at 1080p and 60 FPS. The Series S will also support the same visual upgrade as the Xbox Series X.

GET INTO MATCHES FASTER

With the addition of SSD to the Xbox Series X and S, you will be able to get into Fortnite matches way faster than before. Loading textures and starting the game should also be a lot faster than before.

ENHANCED SPLIT SCREEN

On the Xbox Series X and Series S split screen now supports up to 60 FPS.

FORTNITE ON PLAYSTATION 5

The PlayStation 5 will be launching on November 12 or November 19 depending on your location. The improvements to Fortnite that will be available from day 1 are-

4K RESOLUTION AT 60 FPS

The PS5 will also support Fortnite with 4k resolution and 60 FPS similar to the Xbox Series X.

DYNAMIC VISUALS AND PHYSICS

New dynamic visuals and physics will be available in Fortnite while playing on the PS5. Trees and grass will react to explosions. Enhanced simulation for the smoke and liquid has also been introduced. New cloud and storm effects are also coming to Fortnite on the PS5.

DUALSENSE CONTROLLER IMMERSION

With the haptic feedback of the PS5 controller, you will feel that you are actually holding an SMG or a sniper while playing Fortnite. Haptic trigger feedback for ranged weapons has also been implemented.

SELECT YOUR FAVORITE MODE FROM THE PS5 HOME SCREEN

If you are tired of selecting game modes in Fortnite every time you log in, then the PS5 can help you out. PS5 has the option to directly go to your chosen mode once you open Fortnite.

GET INTO MATCHES FASTER

Opening Fortnite and loading into matches is significantly faster with the PS5.

ENHANCED SPLIT SCREEN

Split Screen will support 60 FPS while playing Fortnite on the PS5.
