A former Twitch staff member has recently claimed that the new twitch “Brand Safety Score” feature might help us uncover why DrDisrespect was banned from Twitch.
DrDisrespect was banned from Twitch back in June of 2020. At the time, Twitch did not disclose the reason for the ban. DrDisrespect himself has also claimed to not know the reason why he received the ban. So, even after more than 10 months, we do not know the exact reason for Doc’s Twitch ban.
But recently a cybersecurity researcher called Daylam Tayari discovered a new “Brand Safety Score” system in Twitch’s internal API. This scoring system will apparently determine how brand-friendly streamers are on the biggest streaming platform in the world.
After the news of the new Brand Safety Scoring System went live a former Twitch staff explained how it can help us finally learn why DrDisrespect got banned from Twitch.
Saysera who’s Twitter profile bio says that he was a former Twitch staff/admin recently made a quote tweet about the whole “Brand safety Score” grading system. He said,
“This is HUGE NEWS as this is User Data that users from the EU and California could ask to get because of GDRP and CCPA and Twitch is using this info for ads and bounties/sponsors purpose Ban reasons are in those informations so @drdisrespect could find out why he got banned.”
Apparently, users from the EU and California can ask to get the brand scoring info because this is apparently considered as user data. Ban reasons are also apparently included in this information which could be the key to unlocking the secrets behind DrDisrespect’s ban on Twitch.
