The Six August 2020 Major Lan event has been canceled for the safety of all the players, staff, and attendees. However, replacing it will be the online regional tournaments, which will be taking place across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.
The Six August 2020 online tournament, also being titled as the ‘Mini-Major’, will start off with the APAC region and it is right around the corner. So here’s every detail Ubisoft has shared with us.
Schedule
The tournament kicks off on August 4 with the APAC North division, where the top 6 teams from this division will fight off in a Single elimination bracket:
On Day 3, we will get to see the Preliminary Final of the Oceanic region, where Okami LFO and Pittsburgh Knights will fight off to play in the Oceanic Finals against WildCard gaming.
South Asia Semi-Finals will also be taking place on Day 3, where the top 4 best teams from the South Asia Nationals will play in a Single elimination bracket:
All games in the three tournaments will be played as best of three except for the Grand Finals which will be a best of five match.
Prize Pool
The total prize pool for the Asia-Pacific region will be $125,000 and will be distributed as such:
North Division online event:
• 1st place: $25,600
• 2nd place: $16,800
• 3rd place: $12,800
• 4th place: $10,400
• 5th place: $8,000
• 6th place: $6,400
Oceania online event:
• 1st place: $15,000
• 2nd place: $9,000
• 3rd place: $6,000
South Asia online event:
• 1st place: $7,500
• 2nd place: $3,750
• 3rd place: $2,250
• 4th place: $1,500
The teams will also be receiving Six Invitational Points for the Global table, and earn their spot in the biggest Rainbow Six Siege event. Here are the SI Global points distribution:
- 1st (510) – APAC North 1st
- 2nd (390) – APAC North 2nd
- 3rd (330) – Oceania 1st
- 4th (275) – South Asia 1st
- 5th (225) – APAC North 3rd
- 6th (180) – APAC North 4th
- 7th (140) – APAC North 5th
- 8th (115) – APAC North 6th
August Major Charms
Just like previous Rainbow Six events, viewers will be able to earn special charms by watching the live-streams for a set amount of time. The watch time will be accumulated across multiple Twitch channels and regional competitions.
There are Six in-game weapon charms that can be universally equipped: Bronze, Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. The longer you watch, the higher ranked the charm.
Copper: 2 hours watched
Bronze: 7 hours watched
Silver: 13 hours watched
Gold: 20 hours watched
Platinum: 25 hours watched
Diamond: 30 hours watched
