Epic Games cancels other Fortnite Competitive Tournament Except FNCS

Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite recently made an announcement saying they are canceling some Fortnite tournaments. The Friday Nite Bragging Rights, Solo Cash Cup, and Trios Cash Cup have been canceled this week.

Competitive players take part in Fortnite tournaments to earn some money or recognition. Such tournaments are the weekly Cash Cups and Friday Nite Bragging Rights tournaments.

Fortnite Cash Cups are tournaments organized by Epic Games. Players can earn cash prizes by placing high enough in these tournaments. The Friday Nite Bragging Rights is a new tournament introduced in Season 5 and it shouts out the winners on the official Fortnite Competitive Twitter account.

Epic Games announced the prize pool for the competitive 2021 season and players were surprised to find a reduced amount of prizes. Many pros shared their concern about this issue and it gained a lot of traction in the Fortnite Community.

But now it looks like Epic Games is canceling this week’s Friday Nite Bragging Rights, Solo Cash Cup, and Trios Cash Cup altogether due to a bug. They have decided to divert all their attention to FNCS this week.

Epic’s statement:

Recently the Fortnite official competitive Twitter account published a tweet informing everyone about the cancellation of the tournaments.

Epic Games canceled the tournaments due to a bug. They said, “We’re canceling the Friday Nite Bragging Rights, Solo Cash Cup, and Trios Cash Cup due to a bug”.

They have found a resource-demanding workaround have decided to focus only on FNCS Qualifier 2 to ensure its completion. “We did find a resource-demanding workaround and have decided to focus our efforts on FNCS to ensure the completion of Qualifier 2”.

In the end, they explained that all the other tournaments will be making a comeback starting next week.

So, to sum it all up, there will be no Friday Nite Bragging Rights, Solo Cash Cup, and Trios Cash Cup this week. We will only have FNCS Qualifier 2 enabled via the workaround. Starting next week all other tournaments should be back.
