Eiyuden Chronicle received a whopping $4.5 million in public fundraising, and therefore now the 3rd most successful game to do so on Kickstarter.
The crowdfunding of the massively popular JRPG Suikoden’s followup, Eiyuden Chronicle is now complete. The developers have amassed a total of $4.5 million, in their Kickstarter campaign. Even though the Suikoden series might have fallen into obscurity because of its age, the announcement joyed fans of the classic, old-school RPG games.

Hence, such big public funding is nothing surprising. In fact, the high traffic during the first day of the fundraiser crashed Kickstarter.
Furthermore, the game reached the funding goal within hours and kept going on with the added goals. As a result, players can now enjoy several languages, DLC, added content and etc. This shows how much the JRPG community was waiting for a game reminiscent of the good’ol days.
The music, the gameplay, the looks, all of it is breathtaking. Especially, the retro fused modern art style. The gameplay is of course inspired by the og Suikoden and so is the theme of the game, but we hope to see how the creators improve upon them.
Excitement is at an all-time high for Eiyuden Chronicle; to see if the Suikoden veterans along with other JRPG creators, can deliver the hype and the promises of this title. After all, successful crowdfunding does not always confirm a hit game, such as Might no 9 and Shenmue 3.
Shenmue 3 is the highest crowdfunded game which raised $6.3 million, 2nd spot is taken by Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, another successful ode to the pioneers, raising $ 5.5 million.
Nevertheless, all the gameplay from trailers looks wonderful, hence hopefuls such as I, has to wait till 2021 to experience this promising title.
The game will be arriving on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows
