Doublelift officially joins TSM

LCS superstar AD carry Doublelift is officially joining TSM for the upcoming 2020 LCS Summer Split.

Last week, Travis Gafford reported that Team Liquid was putting Doublelift’s contract up for sale. Since then, there have been many rumors going around in the League of Legends community that Doubleift might be ended up joining TSM with a trade. And today on April 26, TSM officially announced that Doublelift is joining his old teammates.

The veteran ad carry was part of TSM in the past, he played for TSM from November 2015-November 2017 and later joined Team Liquid in November 2017. Doublelift had an incredible run for Team Liquid where he won four LCS titles and reached the 2019 MSI final.

Everything was going well for Doublelift until the 2020 LCS Spring Split, where Team Liquid was facing many problems. First with the Broxah’s visa issue and later with team performance. And at some point, Team Liquid even benched Doublelift. Regarding the performance, even Doublelift said that was the worst split in his entire career.

LCS Commissioner, Chris Greeley has also made a statement regarding this trade, “The League worked with TSM and Team Liquid to review the trade of Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng to ensure its compliance with the LCS ruleset. We conducted interviews of the relevant individuals as well as reviewed documents and communications in connection with the trade. We found no evidence of prohibited behavior and accordingly, we have approved the trade.”

With this successful trade, Doublelift will be joining his old team and reunited with Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and others. Although he did receive a lot of criticism for underperforming in the 2020 Spring Split, he is very confident in doing his best for TSM following the upcoming 2020 LCS Summer Split.
