Even though this is called a crafting material, it pretty much functions as a currency for jewelers to socket gems into the gears. You can find jewelers pretty much in all the major cities of the game.
But not all the gear pieces can be socketed in this fashion. Boots and Gloves cannot socket gems even if you use scattered prisms. So you will need to have good game knowledge to be able to use the item properly. That being said, here is how you can get scattered prisms in Diablo 4.

Scattered Prisms Farming in Diablo 4
Scattered Prisms are a pretty rare material and do not have a spot you can farm continuously. This material is dropped by defeating world bosses in the game. The world bosses of Diablo 4 have specific spawn times and locations. They are hard bosses that cannot be taken down solo. So the players come all together to defeat the boss. Upon defeating the boss, you will receive your Scattered Prisms.
Another way you can earn Scattered Prism is by defeating the treasure goblin. They are a very rare spawn, but they carry some really good items, Diablo 4. So make sure to defeat them if you are able to find one in the game.
